Each preliminary pageant will have a rehearsal time where each contestant will be shown how to model.  Contestants follow a modeling pattern of marked "Xs" on the stage, and do a turn at the front center X.  The emcee will read the contestant's biography from the entry form while the contestant is modeling onstage. 

All contestants are required to use the dressing rooms provided so that we can find them when its time to line up for an event.  We will call each division for interviews 30 minutes before the pageant begins. 

Clothing that each contestant will need at a preliminary pageant includes:  Ages 0-2 (party dress and casualwear only), ages 3-15 (casualwear, party dress, & talent outfit if doing talent).

REQUIRED

• Interview (Ages 3-15) Simple interview.  The 10-12 and 13-15 division will need a platform for the state finals...just fyi.
• Casualwear  (Ages 3-15) (dressy pantsuit, nice jeans and sweater, etc.)
• Party Dress (short dress for 0-12, evening gown for 13-15)

OPTIONAL

• Personality (Onstage question for ages 3-15, and the 0-2  division is judged onstage during party dress)
• Talent (Optional for ages 3-15, time limit:  2:59 min. or less
• Photogenic (Bring your photo to the preliminary pageant, Christmas pageant contestants must mail or email photos one week in advance for the program book.)

There is no audience admission fee at preliminary pageants.  The press is always welcome.  Please feel free to take photos and videos of the pageant.  (NO PHOTOS MAY BE TAKEN AT THE CHRISTMAS PAGEANT IN SHERIDAN AS WE HAVE AN OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPHER (David Chilcott Photography) WHO CHARGES $20 FOR A COPYRITE FREE PHOTO CD AND THEY ARE FANTASTIC!)

ALL CONTESTANTS

• All contestants MUST live in Wyoming.
• Clothing:  dresses must be 2 inches above the knee to mid calf for ages 3-12.  Floor length evening gown for 13-15 Teens.**new rule**
• Makeup, if used, must be age appropriate and is up to the discretion of the judges.     LIP GLOSS ONLY ON CONTESTANTS AGES 0-9.  **new rule**
• A dressing room will be provided at preliminaries, and MUST be used by all contestants.
• Contestants are responsible for being lined up on time for each event.
• Talent must be 2:59 min. or less. No fire, knives, swords, live animals, or excessive props. Pageants held in a mall may not have a preliminary talent competition.
• Photos submitted for the photogenic competition must be within 1 year of the pageant date.   Photos may be black & white or color.  Preliminary photogenic photos may be any size.  Program book photos may be any size and can be mailed in or emailed.  State Pageant photogenic photos must be an 8x10 hardcopy and may not be emailed.  They will be returned.
• Parents of contestants ages 0-2 must have 1 hand on their child at all times.  Chaperones are encouraged to wear all black on stage.
• A preliminary pageant contestant must compete in the appropriate age division for her age on the date of the preliminary pageant.  A State Pageant contestant who has had a birthday after her preliminary must compete in the appropriate division for her age on the fiirst day of the state finals.  NO EXCEPTIONS.  Contestants must always be the correct age for their age divison. ** rule change**
